International Student Advisory
Essential information and guidelines before you apply and travel to Singapore.
International Student Information & Guidelines
CSM Academy International welcomes students from around the world to pursue quality education and professional development opportunities in Singapore. Prospective international students are encouraged to carefully review the following information and requirements before submitting their application and making arrangements to travel to Singapore.
Student Responsibilities
International students are expected to:
- Meet the academic and admission requirements of their selected programme;
- Possess the required English language proficiency suitable for their chosen course of study;
- Ensure they have sufficient financial resources to support tuition fees, accommodation, daily living expenses, and other costs incurred during their studies in Singapore;
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information and supporting documents to CSM Academy International and the relevant Singapore authorities during the Student Pass application process.
Student Pass & Entry into Singapore
International students should take note that:
- The approval of an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter or Student’s Pass application does not guarantee entry into Singapore;
- Final approval for entry into Singapore is determined solely by the relevant Singapore immigration authorities;
- Students must comply with all applicable Singapore laws, regulations, and conditions governing their stay and studies in Singapore.
Financial Preparedness
International students are responsible for ensuring that they have adequate financial resources throughout their period of study in Singapore.
CSM Academy International strongly recommends students have immediate access to sufficient funds upon arrival, including cash and/or readily available financial instruments such as bank accounts, debit cards, credit cards, or forex cards, to support their initial expenses such as accommodation, transportation, meals, and daily necessities.
Arrival in Singapore
Students are strongly encouraged to arrive in Singapore at least two (2) weeks before the commencement of their course.
Early arrival allows sufficient time for:
- Accommodation arrangements;
- Completion of required administrative procedures;
- Medical examination (if applicable);
- Student’s Pass issuance procedures; and
- Familiarisation with the learning environment and surroundings.
Students who are unable to arrive within the recommended timeframe should inform CSM Academy International as soon as reasonably possible.
Pre-Arrival Requirements
Before travelling to Singapore, students are advised to:
- Arrange suitable accommodation for their stay in Singapore;
- Inform CSM Academy International of their intended residential address;
- Submit relevant proof of accommodation and confirmed travel itinerary where required;
- Complete the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) online before arrival;
- Prepare and keep all admission, immigration, accommodation, and travel documents readily accessible during their journey.
Medical Requirements
International students are responsible for fulfilling all medical examination requirements applicable to their Student’s Pass application and study arrangements.
Students are strongly encouraged to complete any required medical checks before or upon arrival in Singapore, where applicable.
Failure to fulfil mandatory medical requirements may affect the approval of the Student’s Pass and/or the student’s ability to commence or continue their studies in Singapore.
Refunds & Regulatory Decisions
CSM Academy International does not have control over immigration, medical, or regulatory decisions made by relevant Singapore authorities.
Students should note that circumstances such as:
- Refusal of entry into Singapore;
- Non-approval, cancellation, or withdrawal of a Student’s Pass;
- Failure to meet mandatory medical requirements; or
- Other decisions made by relevant authorities,
do not automatically qualify as grounds for a refund of fees paid.
All refund requests will be reviewed and processed strictly in accordance with the Student Contract, CSM Academy International’s Refund Policy, and applicable regulatory requirements.
